Q. WHO CAN PURCHASE MARIJUANA AT A LICENSED RETAILER?
A. Anyone over the age of 21 can enter and make a purchase at licensed retailers like Higher Leaf. There is no requirement for a medical card or other other than a valid ID. Persons under 21 may not enter the store at any time. There is no requirement to be a Washington State resident.
Q. WHAT KINDS OF PRODUCTS DO YOU CARRY?
A. We carry a variety of flowers, concentrates, edibles, pre-rolls, topicals, tinctures, and paraphernalia. We currently carry a variety of edibles including baked goods, candies, chocolates, soda, fruit chews, drink drops and capsules. We frequently add new products to our menu and love to hear customer feedback about your favorite items. Have a favorite product we don't carry? Let us know at email@example.com.
Q. WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
Currently we only accept cash. We have two ATMs on the premises. Federal regulations make it unlikely that we'll be able to accept credit cards in the near future.
Q. HOW MUCH MARIJUANA CAN A PERSON PURCHASE?
A. Each transaction is limited to one ounce of usable marijuana, sixteen ounces of marijuana infused product in solid form, seven grams of extract for inhalation, and seventy two ounces of marijuana infused product in liquid form.
Q. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEDICAL MARIJUANA AND RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA?
A. Under the new system all products are subject to the regulations and taxes even if they are for medical patients. Marijuana is subject to 46.5% in combined taxes. Sales to qualifying medical patients are still subject to marijuana excise taxes, but they are not subject local and general sales tax resulting in a savings of 7%. At Higher Leaf we exceed the 7% discount provided by the state and offer a 10% discount to medical card holders. We offer this discount to holders of medical cards issued under the old system without the need to be entered into the state database. Obtaining a state registered medical card under the new system would provide no additional benefits to patrons over 21 years of age and is therefore unnecessary in our store. We recognize the price increase and product unavailability is a major inconvenience for our medical patients. We hope we can earn your trust as a store with high quality products and good prices under the new tax regime.
Q. IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE WHILE ENJOYING CANNABIS?
A. No, much like alcohol cannabis can reduce reaction time and impair driving ability. Be sure to fully recover from the effects of cannabis prior to operating a motor vehicle.
Q. WHAT IS IT LIKE TO CONSUME MARIJUANA?
A. There's really only one way to find out. Marijuana, unlike alcohol, has multiple active compounds and therefore different strains create different experiences. First time user may not experience a high feeling and this is normal. Just try again another day. You can read about some of our Budtender's experiences with marijuana in our Newsletter Archive!
Q. WILL YOU HAVE A LOUNGE OR OTHER AREA FOR PRODUCT CONSUMPTION?
A. No, consumption of marijuana is not allowed on the store premises or in public.
Q. DO YOU ACCEPT RETURNS?
A. Higher Leaf accept returns and exchanges of marijuana products and marijuana devices containing defective electronic components. Products must be returned with a receipt in the original packaging with the lot, batch, and inventory ID number fully legible at the Higher Leaf store location it was originally purchased at.
